WHO WE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a dynamic Product Owner to join our team, someone with a proven track record of in the successful conceptualisation and delivery of multiple website applications and mobile apps.

You should know the internet like the back of your hand, knowing what works for users and what does not. You should have experience working in an environment involving both developers and creative teams. You're not afraid of the technical stuff and can easily hold your own in a technical conversation. You will be the main go-to person across all projects for anything related to how the website or mobile app product should function.

Our Head of Product will oversee your work and will help to mentor you within our business.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • 4+ years within a software development or technical environment
  • Experience delivering website and mobile application software development projects from scratch
  • CMS Experience – good hands-on experience with at least one CMS platform. Umbraco, Optimizely & WordPress experience is very advantageous.
  • Managing client app stores across platforms (Android, iOS, Huawei) including store setup and releases
  • Assisting with 3rd party integrations including (but not limited to) Firebase, OneSignal, Payment Gateways
  • Assisting with API testing and debugging via Postman and the creation of Postman collections to assist QA team in testing.
  • Assisting with strategic/complex app testing via physical device or Lambdatest platform
  • Experience interfacing with clients and managing client expectations
  • Experience creating Specifications, and SOW documentation for projects
  • Experience working with Waterfall / Agile methodologies and ability to refine & merge processes accordingly where required
  • Experience tracking sprint roadmaps versus timelines to gauge project progress
  • Experience creating high quality, well-formed and well-written documentation and communicating clearly to clients
  • Experience using project management tools like Atlassian JIRA
  • Solid end to end project testing and ability to implement and guide ‘Testing & QA’ processes
  • Good understanding of website analytics and data analysis to guide project solutions
  • Good knowledge of SEO, especially concerning technical ‘onsite’ SEO best practices
  • Good knowledge of development terminologies, their use and in which context to use them i.e. Content Management Systems (CMS); Databases; .Net; PHP; HTML; CSS; JavaScript; JSON; API’s etc
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Military-like organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks very comfortably

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  1. Proposals & Cost Estimates – assist the sales process by helping to gather the initial client requirements, so that we provide accurate cost estimates and detailed proposal documentation across projects.
  2. Business Requirements Planning – one of your most important responsibilities is to ensure that every project Bluegrass delivers is properly planned, scoped and the right solution is proposed within a SOW document, based on various factors including client requirements, budgets, and timeline expectations.
  3. Functional Planning – this includes interpreting business rules / requirements and helping the team (and client) to formulate the right solution for the project. This can be done by analysing client analytics metrics, as well as discussions with various key stakeholders, including the client stakeholders; client target audience (where possible); development team; project managers; and our designers.
  4. Workshops - work closely with the Lead Designer to conduct and run client workshop sessions, to uncover project requirements and problems to be solved and mapping these back to the solution to be delivered
  5. UX/Wireframing – woring with the Lead Designer to assist with creating interactive Figma wireframes and prototypes, and present these to clients in a clear and professional manner, explaining how we’ve solved and achieved the project objectives.
  6. Grooming & User Stories - working together with client stakeholders and your internal project team, you will own the product backlog helping to groom, prioritise and estimate. You will be required to breakdown projects into Epics and write the associated user stories per feature, outlining for the development team the functional requirements and business rules/logic.
  7. Product Ownership – you will be the go-to person for the project team (including clients; contractors; developers; QA’s; designers etc) and answer any questions concerning your products. You will also be responsible for helping PMs to review contractor cost estimates, before getting them approved.
  8. Testing / QA – you will oversee and signoff on the final solution from a quality perspective and conduct QA testing and highlight bugs/tasks where the product does not match your solution.
  9. Risk management – when business conditions change or new features requested may affect scope, you need to reevaluate how it could impact the project and provide cost estimates based on these new requirements.
  10. Documentation – produce quality documentations of a consistently high standard, that can be shared with clients and which clients find easy to understand.
  11. Project Planning - assist PM’s by helping to review and input into their project plans, to ensure they are sensible, realistic and contain the relevant detail and plan to deliver the project.
  12. App Store Management - support the project team with mobile application deployments, managing App Stores and the various app 3rd party integrations specifically Firebase, OneSignal and others
  13. R&D – keep abreast of the latest technologies, best practices and standards. Conduct knowledge sharing sessions with the team. It’s important that you understand the capabilities of the various CMS platforms we work with, to ensure that you can recommend and/or input into the selection of the right platform/solution for a client project and upsell new functionality based on what the CMS capabilities.
  14. Traffic Management – work closely with the Head of Client Services, to input into traffic management and resourcing conversations and assist with the resolution of production schedule conflicts across the PM team.
